Booking Questions

Q: How does it work?

A: It’s simple! Please fill out the booking form on our book an experience button. We will contact you about details and booking confirmation. You will need to sign our contract and pay a 50% deposit. Once that is completed your date/picnic is secured for the date!

Q: How far in advance do I need to book?

A: We love a spontaneous picnic as much as anyone but we can’t always accommodate. To insure you’re able to secure the time and date that you want, don’t delay in booking! 24hr notice or same-day requests risk not being booked and will incur a $50 rush fee.

Q: What’s your cancellation policy

A:We do not offer refunds for any reason but with enough notice will issue credit: 

For parties of 2-4 guests: No refunds. Full credit up to 72 hours in advance. 72 hours-12 hours, we charge a 50% cancellation fee.  Same-day cancellations and no shows will not be issued a credit.

For parties of 5-24 guests: No refunds. Changes and cancellations made 1 week or more in advance will be issued a full credit; 7 days-2 days in advance, we charge a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations within 48 hours will not be issued a credit.

Location Questions

Q: Do you pick the location or do I?

A: We have ‘’preferred’’ locations but will set up a picnic nearly anywhere within 20 miles of the 40245 zip code. Preferred locations include: Waterfront Park, Long Run Park and Ashland Park. We strive to accommodate location requests as best as we can

Q: What locations can I have a picnic at?

A: The picnics can be setup nearly anywhere—a park, a backyard, even indoors!

Day of Picnic Questions

Q: What if it rains?

A: It's Kentucky, the weather can be unpredictable. We sometimes have to move locations or change dates due to weather. If that looks like it may affect your reservation, we will contact you in advance of your picnic to discuss your options. There is no cancellation fee for rescheduling your picnic due to weather, however, we do not issue refunds.

Q: How will I know where to go?

A: 15-20 minutes prior to the start of your picnic, you will receive a text message from a Lou Piquenique team member with a location pin so you know exactly where your picnic is set up.

Q: What if I show up late or need to leave early?

A: Communication is key, we allow up to 10 minutes, but we kindly ask to let us know if you for-see your timing changing. We currently host multiple picnics a day and have a pretty tight schedule. If you are 15 minutes or more late for your picnic it goes into your time of your reservation. If you are 30 mins or more late for your picnic it will be considered a no-show and your picnic will be canceled without credit or refund. Additional time might on the end of your picnic may be able to be added for $25 if booked in advance or $50 added day of.

Q: What if additional guests show up?

A: It's your picnic and you can invite others, just be prepared that if you didn’t pay for additional guests the set up and food might not accommodate your group

Food & Beverage Questions

Q: Do you offer dietary restriction options?

A: Yes! Our charcuterie boards can be nut free, gluten free, pork free, vegetarian, or vegan, please let us know in your booking inquiry of any restrictions or substitutions for allergies. If you have dietary restrictions, we will omit the necessary foods and make suitable substitutions:

Q: What drinks are included? Do you offer alcohol?

A: We currently offer flat or sparkling water, as your choices. We do not offer alcoholic beverages. Public parks and spaces do not permit alcoholic beverages. If you decide to bring your own alcoholic beverage, we are not responsible for any fines/tickets issued to you

Q: Can we bring our own snacks, drinks, or alcohol to our picnic?

A: You are welcome to bring your own snacks or food, but our charcuterie boards are filling

Miscellaneous Questions

Q: What if something gets damaged or stained?

A: Please alert us immediately if this occurs. We charge a replacement fee of up to $75 (or up to half the value of the item when purchased) depending on the value of the item damaged

Q: What’re the details on the Bubble Tent

A: Our bubble tent is an absolutely luxurious and unique add-on. It can be rented as part of your picnic to shelter you from the cold or to envelope you in the atmosphere of your picnic. It can also be rented in lounge fashion with chairs and tables included. The tent is 15X15 and can accommodate 10-15 people. The bubble tent can be set-up nearly anywhere with a flat surface. It can be used after dark if a power source for light and heating is near.

Q: What is the pet policy. Can we bring our fur babies along?

A: While we love fur babies, but, Lou Piquenique has a No Pet policy. In order to guarantee the sanitation and hygiene of textiles and rentals, pets are not allowed during booked events. If pets are brought to picnic or evidence of pets are found (ex: pet hair) client will lose deposit and may face charges for cleaning or replacing items. 

If Lou Piquenique is setting up a home-based picnic or event, we ask that all dogs and other pets be locked up for the duration of setup and the event.
